Copyright & DMCA: How We Handle Rights Claims
What this site is
Set Theory Records publishes its own writing on settheoryrecords.com: synth and plugin coverage, free plugin finds, production techniques, sound design notes, gear and deals, and label notes. Everything you read here was written by us, for the club and the studio. We don’t host a library of other people’s music, samples, or plugin binaries, and we don’t run a file dump. So if you’re a rights holder, the claim you’re about to file is almost certainly about a specific article: a screenshot, an embedded video, a patch name, a waveform image, or a quoted lyric.
Reporting a specific URL
Find the exact page. Not the homepage, not a category index (those are just navigation). Copy the full URL of the article that contains the material you believe infringes. Then head to our contact page and send your notice through it, with “Copyright Notice” in the subject line. One URL per notice is cleanest; if you have several, list them clearly and we’ll work through them in order.
What your notice must contain
Include each of the following, or we can’t act on it:
1. Your name, and a way to reach you (email is fine).
2. Identification of the copyrighted work you say is infringed.
3. The exact URL on settheoryrecords.com where the material sits.
4. A statement that you have a good-faith belief the use isn’t authorized by the rights holder, its agent, or the law.
5. A statement, under penalty of perjury, that the information in your notice is accurate and that you’re the rights holder or authorized to act for them.
6. Your physical or electronic signature.
What happens next
We read every notice ourselves. When yours is valid, we act quickly: the material comes down or gets replaced, and we tell you what we did. If something’s a fair-use quote or a screenshot we’re confident about, we’ll say so and explain why. We’d rather resolve a claim in one exchange than drag it out. Send it through the contact page and it lands on the right desk.
